And something else you can vote on

I went to a wedding shower this weekend for a long time family friend, Jenny. Jenny is getting married in September and I really want to stitch something for her and her new husband, but I'm having trouble picking a design. I've narrowed it down to a few choices and am looking for some opinions.

Before I get to the designs I've chosen, let me fill you in a little. Jenny and her soon to be DH are in their mid-twenties, they're fun, active and into the outdoors. Their home is decorated with a lot of neutrals and earth tones, and many things on their registry were olive greens, linen / flax, burnt orange, oil rubbed bronze, chocolate brown, etc. The wedding colors are similar - their invites were a cream color card with an olivy-green monogram and brown ribbon, so that's narrowed down the color scheme for me. These are the designs I've picked, in no particular order, and I've set up a little poll for voting.

#1. I Do by Bent Creek

#2. The Wedding by My Big Toe Designs (to be done in green and brown)

#3. Two Shall Be as One by Lizzie*Kate

#4. Wedding Row by Bent Creek

Thoughts? Opinions? Different suggestions?

I really like either of the first two. The "I Do" design seems a little more casual and outdoorsy, which seems to suit your friends from the description.

"The Wedding" design seems a bit more formal, and I like that it spells out their names rather than using just initials. I would use this one if you think that they'd like something a bit more formal to commemorate the formal ceremony. (This also has a more timeless feel for me.)

I stitched the Bent Creek "I do" for a friend of mine and it came out lovely - I had it framed with a slightly smaller frame.. my friend was really really happy with it and i would certainly do it again. I have seen another design from the Historical Sampler Company - can't remember the name but something to do with roses - very simple but very effective in just a red and gold and brown (if memory serves me right!)

I love the Bent Creek "I Do" design.. and possibly also one of their older ones that you can find here: http://www.bentcreek.com/flowers.htm

Hands to Work also has a "cute" one called "Love, Me" that might work as it's a little less traditional. http://handstowork.typepad.com/.shared/image.html?/photos/uncategorized/2008/02/03/img_1355.jpg

I like the big toe designs the best. You might want to find out (in a sneaky way if it is supposed to be a surprise) what the bride likes; things like folk art is an exclusive taste.

I really like the Bent Creek one but I also like the My Big Toe one too. You picked some lovely ones so it's difficult to choose!

Wendy suggested the other one I was going to suggest, the Bent Creek "Flowers in Springtime." I did that one for my outdoorsy grad school friends. I love that design. But my second choice is "I Do."

I like #1 or #2 the best, with maybe two edging out one because of the gorgeous border and it's verse.

And #2 really showcases your wonderful stitching talents. : )

They are all nice, looking forward to seeing what you choose

I like The Wedding best, but if they are not formal people it might be a bit old fashioned for them. Then I Do would be the right one. Cheerful, but still congratualtory.

I did the L*K For my DH and I and it was a lot of fun to stitch but, my vote is going for I Do.

They're all nice but I'd pick the Bent Creek one - really sweet sentiment and looks like a fun stitch too :o)

Good luck picking - they're all nice.

I choose The Wedding by My Big Toe. It's my current all-time favorite wedding sampler, and I choose it whenever I get the chance. OK, this is only the second chance I've had, but still, it's my choice. :o)

I think the first BC one feels a bit young and funky, so I voted for that one, although Wedding Row is a close second. Only you know best :)

From your description, I'd say it has to be #1- "I Do"

For my 2 cents, I like #2 The Wedding, but I'm sure the recipients would love any one of them.

My vote is for the My Big Toe Design. It can be customized for color, looks like you did a lot of work and yet looks elegant and special and not cutsy. Good luck with stitching it.

I like #2 and #4.

Hmmm.. I'm usually much more into classical designs, so I would normally lean towards the My Big Toe design; however, I really like the Bent Creek one!
